Proposed 29-storey (115 m ) residential condo with ground floor retail on site currently occupied by Remenyi Music store across from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Developer presented scheme to P+D in January 2019 at which time the Committee raised serious concerns with massing and height; monolithic, windowless huge west facade facing the Annex; no attention to public realm; and hugely problematic access and vehicular circulation.
Rather than prepare a preliminary report to TEYCC, Planning moved directly to a Community Consultation at the Intercontinental Hotel on 27 Feb. 2019 where public feedback was vocal and totally opposed to the project.
As we expected from the start, developer appealed to LPAT. Annex Residents' Corporation and the East Annex Condominiums Corporation have both applied to LPAT for full Party status. Decision on status will be made at a Case Management Conference at LPAT on 28 Feb. 2020.
