ARA engagement: Developer met twice with P+Z in 2016 and 2017 to discuss site potentials. P+Z expressed concerns over possible shading of Taddle Park and on townhouses to the north of the site, and suggested that a height between 50 Prince Arthur and 145 St. George would be reasonable for discussion with community residents. The developer agreed to organize a consultation with P+Z and homeowners along Lowther Mews to review preliminary plans in late Spring of 2017. However, ADI subsequently submitted a development application for a much higher, 29-storey building without further consultation with City staff, Councillor Cressy or ARA, and appealed the application at OMB (now LPAT). ARA has vigorously opposed the application and has obtained Party status for the hearing. Two pre-hearing meetings have been held and a third is scheduled for July 2019 to finalize the Procedural Order at LPAT. At the earliest, a full hearing will be held in February of 2020.
