ARA engagement: developer met with P+Z Committee on 5 Sept 2019 to present the project. P+Z felt that major changes are needed to height and massing, and to vehicular circulation and public realm. Burnac went ahead and submitted their application for OPA and Zoning Bylaw amendment on 5 Nov. 2019.
Councillor Layton subsequently agreed to pilot a 'Project Review Meeting' - a new step advocated by ARA - of developer, City staff from Planning, Urban Design, Heritage, Transportation Services, ARA's Planning + Development Committee, and 12 representatives of 50+ neighbours who are concerned with the project. That meeting was held on 28 Jan 2020 and tentatively concluded with an undertaking by all stakeholders to move to a formal Working Group subject to responses at the Community Consultation (24 Feb 2020, 6:30-8:30, Intercontinental Hotel, Barclay Room), and to the developer making significant changes to the project design as a starting point for the Working Group (i.e. not the design submitted with the application).
