Description
proposed 4-storey (12 m plus mechanical penthouse), 48-unit rental project that would cause full demolition of all three existing, traditional houses (converted to 19 rental units) and relocation of current tenants;
Developer first met with P+D on 3 July 2018 to present initial design which the Committee needed extensive re-working on several fronts. After meeting with City planners who took a similar position, the developer revised the project design and presented to P+D again on 2 April 2019. Several improvements had been made (circulation, parking, deliveries, unit sizes, Huron facade) but P+D felt that Heritage Preservation Services needed to be consulted before a formal application was made, and that a rental replacement strategy needed to be developed and made clear before P+D could support the project.
Developer did not contact P+D again and submitted a formal application on 22 Nov. 2019. Planning issued a Preliminary Report on 20 Jan. 2020 to TEYCC; we are waiting to hear of date and location of that meeting.
